Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Assessment (PEARS) Courses

The Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) training courses are similar to Basic Life Support (BLS) training, but focuses more on infant and child patients suffering from respiratory distress, cardiac arrest and more.

Along with BLS training, PEARS provides healthcare employees life-saving skills needed to improve the outcomes of patient lives. It is an initial response to life-threatening cases which is later followed by more advanced patient management including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Healthcare providers who need PEARS training will learn various skills such as high-quality CPR for children and infants, respiratory emergencies and more. Those who need PEARS training include healthcare providers or first responders in schools, health centres, etc.

A person in a red helmet and gloves practices CPR on an infant mannequin outdoors. An individual beside them holds a clipboard, taking notes. The scene suggests an emergency response or training exercise on a dark ground covering.

First Aid & CPR/AED Training

Along with Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training, Coast2Coast also offers First Aid and CPR/AED training courses that follow the Canadian Red Cross guidelines. Our two first aid training courses are Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C as well as Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C. Each of these courses are offered in the Traditional All In-Class format or theΒ Online BlendedΒ format.

Each of ourΒ First Aid and CPR/AEDΒ courses are WSIB approved and taught by one of our highly trained Canadian Red Cross instructors. Practice hands-on skills such as wound care, CPR, bandaging and more with top-notch equipment, guaranteed to make you feel confident in your life-saving skills.

Currently, our First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) courses are held separately as of April 2019. First aid training will cover basic to advanced skills as well as CPR, AED and choking for adults, children and infants. Our Basic Life Support course will have some overlap of skills, but will primarily focus on high-intensity CPR, BVM, how to work in a fast-paced environment with a team and more.

First Aid + BLS Bundle

Many students who require Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training also require first aid training. If you require both trainings for your school program or workplace, you may be eligible for our BLS bundle discount!

To take advantage of the bundle discount, you must register for two separate courses:

  1. Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C OR Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP)

This discount will be applied to the Basic Life Support registration, reducing the price to $39.99+HST per person.
