Certification Requirements for Logistics Workplaces

Warehouse and logistics operations need Basic/Emergency First Aid or Intermediate/Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, depending on hazard level, workers per shift, and travel time to a health care facility. Drivers and remote-site workers usually need the Standard level. Every course meets CSA Standard Z1210 with certificates in 48 hours.

Ontario

Under Regulation 1101 of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the certification level and number of first aiders scale with workers per shift and workplace hazard rating. Warehousing and material handling generally require Standard-level certification from a WSIB approved provider.

Alberta & other provinces

Alberta's Part 11 Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code sets requirements by hazard level, workers per shift, and whether a site is close, distant, or isolated from medical care, which directly affects long-haul and remote depot operations. WorkSafeBC sets British Columbia's requirements, and Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia each set their own under provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

First Aid Requirements Across Canada

Every province sets its own workplace first aid rule through its own regulator, but almost all of them now point to the same national training standard, CSA Z1210, and the same kit standard, CSA Z1220.
