Common Questions

First Aid & CPR Certification in Midtown Toronto — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers based on Ontario WSIB rules and Canadian Red Cross policy — no guesswork.

The majority of workplaces require Intermediate/Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C. This 16-hour course issues WSIB approved certificates and meets Ontario workplace safety requirements. An online course alone is not accepted, and there are no prerequisites.

There is no difference — they are the same course. The Canadian Red Cross renamed Standard First Aid to Intermediate First Aid in 2022. Both cover the same first aid principles, one step beyond basic first aid. Certificates last three years, with one recertification within 90 days of expiry.

Our CPR training courses run at 67 Taunton Road, Toronto, ON M4S 2P2, second floor, near Yonge & Eglinton. Take the TTC to Eglinton or Davisville station, or ride the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. Paid street parking is nearby, and we serve Davisville, Leaside, Forest Hill, and Lawrence Park.

CPR training courses come in three levels. Level A covers adults only. Level B covers children and infants, suiting childcare and early childhood educators. CPR/AED Level C covers adults, children, and infants, and is the level bundled with Intermediate First Aid for most Ontario workplaces.

CPR/AED Level C is valid for 3 years, and recertification requires a current Canadian Red Cross certificate. The Lifesaving Society follows different standards, so its certificate cannot be recertified with the Red Cross — you would take the full course. Intermediate/Standard First Aid recertifies once, within 90 days of expiry, and both issue WSIB approved certificates. See training courses and dates.

Yes. Basic Life Support (BLS) replaced CPR-HCP in April 2019 and is the standard for healthcare providers who deliver emergency treatment. The Canadian Red Cross and Heart & Stroke Foundation both offer BLS, valid one year. Non-clinical roles should take Intermediate/Standard First Aid. Browse BLS dates in Midtown Toronto.

Yes. All our training courses include hands-on practice and skills testing on an automated external defibrillator trainer. Survival from sudden cardiac arrest improves sharply when an AED is used quickly. AEDs are common in Ontario office buildings, schools, transit hubs, and community centres around Yonge & Eglinton.

Your digital Canadian Red Cross certificate arrives within 48 hours. To pass, attend the full session and score at least 75%. For blended learning courses, the self-paced online portion is emailed within 24 hours of registration and must be finished before class.

Yes. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course, for youth aged 11 to 15, covers basic first aid, child care, and safety tips for handling emergencies. The Stay Safe! program suits children aged 9 to 13. Both are popular with Midtown Toronto families.
