The Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR Program is offered in an Online Blended or Traditional format which are both WSIB-approved.
The Online Blended format is an amazing program that gives our participants the option to save a great deal of time as their class time will be cut in half compared to the Traditional (all-in-class) method.
With the blended delivery method, participants will be asked to complete the theory portion of the course online on their Red Cross account. The theory portion is covered through videos, pictures and interactive modules to help you process the information and understand the knowledge better. After finishing your online portion of the course, you will come into our in-class session for just one day to practice the hands-on skills.
The Traditional format, on the other hand, does not have an online component. Students will simply attend their training at our Brampton facility and learn from one of our Canadian Red Cross instructors.
First Aid & CPR certificates are valid for 3 years, issued by the Canadian Red Cross and are WSIB-approved. If you are unsure of which course to sign up for, please visit our Which Course Should I Take? Page.

Frequently Asked Questions
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is an electronic device that assists those who experience sudden cardiac arrest. If you are performing CPR and the person remains unresponsive with no pulse, you may need to use an AED. It is always beneficial to be trained in CPR and AED as cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death. AEDs save lives when used correctly.
AEDs can be found in public spaces all over Canada, including the city of Brampton, whether it is in an office, on a form of public transit or in a school! Some popular brands of AEDs include: Zoll and Defibtech. AEDs can be purchased from Coast2Coast by contacting our sales department (sales@c2cfirstaidaquatics.com).
Coast2Coast offers several AED training courses which will teach participants how to properly use an AED while performing CPR. AED training is included in all of our CPR and First Aid courses, making it convenient for you to learn how to use one.
Prepare yourself for emergency situations and learn how to use an AED accidents can happen at any time.
First Aid and CPR/AED blended courses are perfect for those who have busy schedules. In this training format, students must complete half of their training online in their own time. This section will contain the theory portion of first aid and CPR/AED. Once students complete the online portion of their course, they will attend an in-class session in Brampton to learn and practice hands-on skills with a Canadian Red Cross instructor. These skills will cover various topics such as CPR, AED, bandaging and more!
First Aid and CPR/AED traditional courses are taught strictly in-class at our Brampton facility. Students will learn life-saving skills from a highly experienced Canadian Red Cross instructor. Practice real-life scenarios (same as the blended format of the course) and learn theory in the classroom. The traditional course format requires students to attend the full training session in order to receive a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificate.
Each format of First Aid and CPR/AED will meet the standards required for the workplace, school, etc. For specific training your workplace might need, consult your workplace directly.

For your convenience, Basic Life Support courses are offered in morning and evening sessions. We understand that those who may need BLS training have busy schedules, so we offer this training course at different times. Once you complete your BLS training in Brampton with one of our experienced Canadian Red Cross instructors, you will feel confident in your life-saving and teamwork skills. Students may also add Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy to their training course which is an additional two hours.
Most First Aid and CPR certificates through the Canadian Red Cross are only valid for three years in Ontario. Before these three years are up, you may be required to recertify your first aid and CPR/AED training for work or school in Brampton. Recertification courses refresh student’s memories and teach new implemented techniques. What courses can you recertify with Coast2Coast?
CPR/AED C may be recertified over and over, as long you complete the Recertification course prior to your certificate expiring. This recertification course will remind you how to perform CPR, use an AED and help someone of any age who is choking. This training will run for four hours, making it simple to complete your training quickly.
Unlike CPR/AED C, Standard First Aid and CPR/AED C may only be recertified once, meaning you must alternate between a full course and a recertification course. Practice life-saving skills you learned three years ago. Standard First Aid and CPR/AED C Recertification will only last one day (eight hours), half the time it took to complete the full training course.
