Most teachers and school staff need Basic/Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, while licensed child care settings and staff with supervisory safety duties generally need Intermediate/Standard First Aid. Ontario schools

Under Sabrina's Law, every Ontario school board must have an anaphylaxis policy and provide training for teachers and school staff on recognizing and responding to anaphylaxis, including the use of epinephrine auto-injectors. Our courses cover exactly that, alongside full CPR and AED skills.

Child care settings

Licensed child care programs and early years settings typically require staff to hold a current first aid certificate that includes infant and child CPR. We offer Child Care First Aid built for that requirement, and we will confirm the right level for your program.

Sabrina's Law is Ontario legislation. Alberta, British Columbia, and other provinces address anaphylaxis and school first aid through their own legislation, ministries of education, or individual school board policy, and the certification level can differ. Every province sets its own workplace first aid rule through its own regulator, but almost all of them now point to the same national training standard, CSA Z1210, and the same kit standard, CSA Z1220. Under Sabrina's Law, every Ontario school board must have an anaphylaxis policy and provide staff training on recognizing and responding to anaphylaxis, including epinephrine auto-injector use. Beyond that, specific first aid certification requirements are set by each board and by the role, so check with your board.

Sabrina's Law is Ontario legislation, in force since 2006, requiring every school board to establish an anaphylaxis policy. It covers individual plans for students at risk, staff training on recognizing and responding to anaphylaxis, and procedures for administering epinephrine auto-injectors.

Most teachers and school staff take Basic/Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, formerly called Basic (formerly Emergency First Aid). Principals, safety leads, coaches, and trip supervisors often take the fuller Intermediate/Standard First Aid instead.

Yes. Licensed child care and early years settings generally require a first aid certificate that includes infant and child CPR. Our Child Care First Aid course is built for that requirement, and we will confirm the exact level your program needs.

First Aid with CPR/AED Level C is valid three years. Recertification is available once within 90 days of expiry; after that window the full course must be retaken, so book before certificates lapse.
