Frequently Asked Questions
Per Ontario WSIB and Red Cross policy.
The majority of workplaces require Intermediate/Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, a comprehensive 2-day course. Emergency First Aid & CPR Level C is the 1-day workplace or home safety option. These first aid courses must meet CSA Z1210:24 standards under the WSIB modernized First Aid Program (June 22, 2026). Online first aid training counts only with the classroom day; online training alone cannot prove you can perform CPR or use life saving skills.
Two names for the same Ontario workplace course. Many people still search for Standard First Aid, while current terminology uses Intermediate First Aid. CPR/AED certification is valid for three years, and recertification courses are required every three years before your certificate expires. The life saving skills taught are identical either way, practised through real life scenarios. Blended training is ideal for busy schedules — book the Cambridge blended course here.
No. A public CPR class at CPR/AED Level C is one of our CPR training courses, covering Adult, Child, and Infant. Basic Life Support teaches the life saving skills nurses and paramedics need. BLS certification is valid for one year after training completion, and participants can add two hours for Airway Management training. It replaced CPR-HCP in April 2019.
As a leading provider we run blended online first aid training and fully in person options across Cambridge, and recertification takes less time than a full course. Not sure which fits? Use What Course Should I Take?
