As part of our initiative to help the youth, Coast2Coast offers the Canadian Red Cross Youth Programs in the community of Kanata. These Canadian Red Cross developed programs cover topics including managing difficult behaviors and provides essential content on leadership and professional conduct when dealing with kids. The programs are designed for youth of different ages and strives to teach necessary leadership and safety skills.The two programs that are offered are: BabySitting and Stay Safe. The babysitting course, designed for teens above 11 years old, trains the participants on the essentials of taking care of a baby or toddler. The Stay Safe program, designed for teens 9-13, provides the applicable and age-appropriate aids while reinforcing a youth’s ability to improve his/her own safety.Each of the programs emphasizes safety and emergency preparedness for children and teaches children life-saving skills such as dealing with choking.
