London First Aid Training — Frequently Asked Questions

Are your first aid courses WSIB approved?

Yes. Our Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training is WSIB approved, which is the certification most Ontario employers ask for. You receive a Canadian Red Cross certificate valid for three years.

When do I get my certificate?

Your certificate is issued within 48 hours of finishing the course. You get a digital copy you can send to an employer straight away, and it stays available in your Red Cross account.

What is the difference between blended and full classroom?

Blended means you complete the theory online at your own pace at home, then come in for the hands-on day. Full classroom covers everything in person. The certificate is identical either way — pick whichever fits your schedule.

How long is my certification valid?

Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C is valid for three years. Basic Life Support (BLS) is valid for one year, because healthcare employers require an annual renewal.

Can I take a recertification course instead of the full course?

You can recertify if your current certificate is still valid or expired by no more than 90 days, and it was issued by the Canadian Red Cross or an equivalent provider. Bring it with you on the day. If it expired more than 90 days ago you need the full course again.

What should I bring and wear?

Bring photo ID, your existing certificate if you are recertifying, and your online completion record if you booked a blended course. Wear comfortable clothes — you will be kneeling on the floor for the CPR practice.

Do you train groups at our workplace?

Yes. With eight or more participants we come to you: pick your course type, date and site and we send Canadian Red Cross certified instructors, with centralized billing and one point of contact for the booking.

Can I reschedule or transfer my booking?

Yes — contact us before your class date and we will move you to another date or another location. Our team can also transfer a seat to a colleague if you booked for your workplace.

Should I take BLS or Standard First Aid?

BLS is the healthcare provider level, asked for by hospitals, nursing and paramedic programs and most regulated health colleges. Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C is the workplace certification for everyone else. If your employer or school named one specifically, take that one.

How long is the Emergency Medical Responder course?

EMR is roughly 80 hours of in-class training — it is the professional responder level, a step above workplace first aid, and a common prerequisite for firefighting and paramedic applications. It runs at a limited number of our locations, so check the dates before you book travel.

Where do I park at your London location?

Parking and arrival details for this site are listed in the location section on this page, along with directions and transit access. If anything is unclear, call us before your class and we will walk you through it.

What time should I arrive?

Arrive about 15 minutes before the start time so we can check your ID and paperwork without holding up the class. Late arrivals can miss required content, which affects certification.
