Most Richmond Hill workplaces require Intermediate First Aid and CPR/AED Level C for compliance, so this is our most-booked course. Students who prefer to spread out their study time choose the blended option: an online portion of the training completed at home, followed by one classroom day for hands-on skills. If you're renewing an existing certificate, you attend a single full day onsite and skip the online portion entirely.
This course works for Ontario workplaces, daycare centres, and anyone who needs first aid certification for a job. Complete the online portion at your own pace, then join us for one in-person day to practise the skills: controlling severe bleeding, giving high-quality chest compressions, and recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest, heart attack, and stroke. Parents and childcare staff frequently choose this course for its infant CPR component alongside the adult and child skills.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers based on Ontario WSIB rules and Red Cross policy — no guesswork.
In Ontario, WSIB regulation sets the requirement and company size decides it. Workplaces with six or more employees per shift need Intermediate First Aid, also called Standard First Aid: two days, or a blended equivalent. Sites with one to five employees can use Emergency First Aid, a one-day course. Tell us your employee count and we'll confirm the right option.
Most ask for Intermediate First Aid and CPR/AED Level C from a WSIB approved first aid provider. Mackenzie Health, area daycares, and Yonge Street offices all use this course. You receive a Canadian Red Cross first aid certification once you pass your final skills test.
None. You do need to pass the written and practical evaluations with a minimum grade of 75% to earn your certificate. Parents, students, daycare staff, and office workers register for these first aid courses with no prior training.
Treatment for choking, severe bleeding, and shock, plus the common emergencies you're most likely to meet at work or home, including allergic reactions and seizures. Every course meets Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements for WSIB approval.
Yes, every participant needs one for the hands-on portion. Add it to your registration when you book online and we'll have it ready for your Richmond Hill session. The mask lets you practise rescue breaths hygienically.
CPR/AED Level C trains you to respond to cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. Chest compressions and rescue breathing maintain blood circulation until help arrives, and you practise using an automated external defibrillator (AED). It's the CPR certification most Richmond Hill employers require alongside Intermediate First Aid, taught in every first aid and CPR training session at our Church Street location.
Your Canadian Red Cross certificate is valid for three years. CPR recertification is one full day onsite with the same certifying body you trained with originally, plus a passing grade of 75% or higher. If your card expired more than three years ago, Red Cross rules require the full course instead.
Yes. CPR/AED Level C is built for the general public and satisfies most Richmond Hill workplace requirements. Basic Life Support training prepares healthcare providers for team-based CPR and needs annual renewal for BLS certification. In a hospital, clinic, or long-term care setting, BLS is likely what your employer needs.
Beyond workplace certification we run specialized courses including childhood first aid and wilderness first aid. For public events, first response coverage is essential for compliance, and Coast2Coast provides mobile first response services onsite across Richmond Hill and York Region.
