CPR/AED & First Aid Workshops

First Aid, CPR & Life-Saving Skills for Everyday Life — No Certification Required

If you don’t need a WSIB approved or OHS approved First Aid & CPR/AED certificate but still want life-saving skills, a workshop is perfect for you. If your workplace requires a Canadian Red Cross approved First Aid training certificate, choose a certification course instead. Our workshops are shorter, more affordable, and open to anyone — no workplace requirement necessary.

Know Before You Book

Workshop or Canadian Red Cross Approved First Aid Training?

Both are valuable — they just serve different needs, so you can pick the right one. Our certification programs — a fully certified first aid course — include Standard First Aid (the CSA Z1210:24 Intermediate level), Emergency First Aid (the CSA Z1210:24), CPR Level C, and BLS.

If your employer or role requires a WSIB or WSIB / Occupational Health & Safety Compliant certificate, choose a certification course — not a workshop.
Format What You Get Certificate Type WSIB / OHS Compliant?
First Aid Workshop A shorter session focused on general knowledge — no formal skills assessment Participation certificate Not a certification
Certification Course (Standard/Emergency First Aid, CPR/AED, BLS) Full curriculum plus a hands-on skills assessment with an instructor Canadian Red Cross certificate, valid 3 years WSIB / OHS compliant

Every second counts. According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest, and combined with early AED use, survival rates can exceed 70%. That’s the skill every workshop teaches.

Common Questions

First Aid and CPR FAQs

Is a First Aid workshop the same as a WSIB approved certification course?

No. A workshop is a shorter, lower-cost way to build hands-on skills and earn a participation certificate. It does not meet WSIB or OHS requirements — for that, you need a first aid course such as Standard First Aid (CSA Z1210:24 Intermediate level), Emergency First Aid (CSA Z1210:24 Basic level), CPR/AED, or BLS.

Will I receive a certificate after completing a workshop?

Yes. You’ll receive a participation certificate for the skills covered — not a Canadian Red Cross certification, and not proof of WSIB or OHS compliance.

Who should take a First Aid workshop instead of a certification course?

Workshops suit anyone who wants practical, real-life skills without a workplace requirement to meet — such as new parents, expecting families, grandparents, and caregivers. If your employer or role requires a WSIB or OHS approved certificate, choose a certification course instead.

Can I book a private or custom workshop for my group?

Yes. Our Build Your Own Workshop lets groups, workplaces, and families choose the topics that matter most, from CPR/AED to choking to bleeding control. Submit an inquiry and we’ll help build the right agenda.

How long does a First Aid workshop take?

Most of our set workshops, like Know Your Baby and Baby Emergency Preparedness, run about 3 hours per class. A Build Your Own Workshop can run shorter or longer depending on how many topics your group selects.

Can I take a workshop instead of a full certification class?

Yes. Workshops are a lower-cost alternative to a full first aid and CPR training class, open to new parents, families, and groups without a workplace requirement. For a WSIB or OHS certificate, choose our full CPR courses instead.
