Most Ontario workplaces require Intermediate/Standard First Aid with Level C and AED. This course meets WSIB Regulation 1101 requirements.
Level C covers adults, children, and infants. The AED component includes trainer practice. Participants must achieve a minimum grade of 75%.
Basic Life Support replaced CPR HCP in April 2019. It is designed for healthcare participants. BLS certification is valid for one year.
Certificates are usually delivered within 48 hours. Most programs are valid for three years unless stated otherwise.
Recertification must be completed with the same certifying body. Standard First Aid holders can recertify only once; if over three years old, the full course is required.
