Which Instructor Roles Are Open?
Six instructor roles are open, and each asks for a specific instructor certificate you must already hold. Read the certificate line first. We cannot consider an application without it, and better you hear that here than in three weeks. The five teaching roles run full time, part time or as a 12-month contract, with flexible hours, on-site parking and monthly bonuses. Swimming is part time.
You do not hold an instructor certificate yet? That is a course, not a dead end. Our Canadian Red Cross Instructor Development program runs four days plus a skills day, and you need to be 18 or older with a valid Intermediate/Standard First Aid certificate to start. We are an authorized Instructor Development Partner, so you can qualify here and then apply here.

What Office Roles Are We Hiring For?
One office role is open: Customer Service Representative, full time and permanent, at our head office in Thornhill, Ontario. You would take inbound calls from students booking a course, moving one, or working out which certificate their employer asked for. Our training program teaches you the rest. What Kind of Instructor Are We Looking For?
Somebody who cares whether the student can still do it three months later. Ashkon Pour-heidary founded this company with Aryan Sekhavati in Toronto in 2014 after his own first aid class went badly. He passed, held the card, then failed the practical evaluation he had taken the course for. He had watched the skills, not practised them.
Our blended courses put the theory online and spend the classroom hours on the floor with manikins and an automated external defibrillator trainer. Your job in that room is repetition. Students also get a free 90-day skills practice retake, and the ones who take it are why a room of strangers walks out able to act.

What certification do I need to teach first aid and CPR at Coast2Coast?
You need a current instructor certificate from the awarding body named on the role you are applying for. A student-level certificate does not qualify you to teach. Five roles ask for a Canadian Red Cross or Heart & Stroke instructor certificate, and the swim role asks for a National Lifeguard Service Award plus a Lifesaving Swim or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification. Each card in the positions section names its own.
Can I become a first aid instructor if I do not have the certificate yet?
You can qualify through our Canadian Red Cross Instructor Development program, which runs four days plus a skills day. You have to be 18 or older and hold a valid Intermediate/Standard First Aid certificate to enrol. Coast2Coast is an authorized Instructor Development Partner, so you can train with us and then apply here. See the instructor course details.
How does instructor pay work at Coast2Coast?
We go through pay with you directly, so ask on the application form or call 1-866-291-9121 before you apply. Instructors also get monthly bonuses and awards, a signing bonus when the four conditions are met, and our own discounts on upgrades and recertification.
Is instructor work full time or part time?
Instructor roles are offered as full time, part time or a 12-month contract, and you pick your own courses from the calendar. Part time on the Heart & Stroke role runs 20 to 30 hours a week, and swimming instruction is part time. With more than 100 courses every week, most instructors build a schedule around what they already have.
Where would I be teaching?
The instructor postings cover our Ontario facilities, and we also train in Calgary and Edmonton. See all our training locations, then tell us on the form which ones you can reach. Swim instructors travel to the client's backyard or condo pool instead, and private group courses go to the client's own site.
How do I apply for a job at Coast2Coast?
Instructors apply through one online form, and office applicants email a resume and cover letter to corporate@c2cfirstaidaquatics.com. There is no separate form per instructor role, so apply once and name the position. Only applicants selected for an interview are contacted.
How does the instructor signing bonus work?
New instructors earn the signing bonus once all four conditions are met, and missing any one means it is not paid. You work the agreed days per month for at least three months, you start teaching in the month you sign, you complete orientation, and you have not worked with Coast2Coast in the past year.
What do I need to teach swimming lessons?
Swimming instructors need a current National Lifeguard Service Award, a current Lifesaving Swim or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification, a current Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, and at least two years of swim instruction experience. You teach in the client's own pool through our mobile program. Small classes, fully insured.
What does the Customer Service Representative role involve?
You take inbound calls at our Thornhill head office and help students book, change or understand a course. The role is full time and permanent, and we ask for at least one year of customer service experience. Call centre and retention experience count in your favour. Is Intermediate First Aid the same as Standard First Aid?
Intermediate First Aid and Standard First Aid are two names for one course. The Canadian Red Cross changed the wording, so older certificates read Standard and newer ones read Intermediate. If a posting here asks for Intermediate/Standard First Aid and your card says Standard, you hold what we asked for. See our first aid courses.
