If you are interested in our recertification course, you must already have a First Aid Certificate. It is important to keep your license up-to-date with the changing guidelines. Your current certificate must be active before you are able to register for our recertification course.
Canadian Red Cross revises and updates these certificates every 3-5 years. Our recertification course has been made to refresh your memory, update your knowledge, and help you practice your skills with the latest equipment. You will also learn about the updated guidelines, changes and any new curriculum changes that may alter the way we have performed First Aid in the past. Our two programs focus on detailed information on safety, emergency preparedness, and life-saving skills. The Baby Sitting Program covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Calgary Red Cross BLS Program
Training Levels:
- Basic Life Support (HCP)

Coast2Coast First Aid and CPR/AED offers a Canadian Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) program in Calgary. This course is created for individuals in the health care industry and involves learning high-performance CPR. Participants learn High-Performance CPR, Airway Obstruction, Assisted Ventilation and more. A variety of important topics are taught such as dealing with trauma, opioid overdose and more. You also have the option to add Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy to your program and complete them all in one course.
Audience
Pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in fire service, rescue team, sports-medicine, lifeguards and ski patrol would all need to complete to BLS training.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, there are no prerequisites for any of our CPR classes in Calgary. All of our CPR courses and CPR certification processes are designed as per the Canadian Red Cross CPR guidelines. Our CPR and First Aid instructors will prepare you for the course, covering topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, how to use an automated external defibrillator and so much more!
- Students receive a temporary certificate on the day of their in-class training which is valid for 30 days. Official OHS-approved certificates from the Canadian Red Cross will be sent within 5-10 business days of successfully completing the course.
If they have completed the class through the online-only learning format, the student will receive a temporary certificate from the Canadian Red Cross that is valid for 60 days. The student must upgrade their training and attend an in-class session to obtain an OHS-approved certificate. The students receive their official OHS-approved Canadian Red Cross certificate within 5-10 business days of completing the in-class portion.
