Yes — it stays valid until it expires. In 2023 Alberta aligned with CSA Z1210-17: Emergency First Aid became Basic First Aid, and Standard became Intermediate. Only the names changed; the latest first aid curriculum covers the same comprehensive first aid skills and knowledge.
No. Alberta OHS approved certification requires an in-person skills assessment at a training center. Finish the blended theory at home, then visit our conveniently located training center for the skills session. You'll receive your certificate within 48 hours; online-only certificates aren't accepted.
CPR/AED certifications are valid three years; recertify before expiry to stay qualified. Applicants with an expired certificate must retake the full course with the certifying body that issued it to receive a new certificate.
