Most workplaces require Intermediate First Aid (previously called Standard First Aid) with CPR/AED Level C. This WSIB approved program meets the OHS Act Regulation 1101 and suits sites of 6 or more employees. Basic First Aid (previously called Emergency First Aid) suits low-risk workplaces with 1 to 5 employees. The modernized WSIB First Aid Program launches on June 22, 2026.

The Online Blended format is a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross course with eight hours of flexible online theory followed by a shorter in-class session in East York, Toronto, where you practise CPR, AED, and bandaging with a Canadian Red Cross instructor.

Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) is a Canadian Red Cross program for healthcare professionals such as nurses and first responders. Formerly CPR-HCP, it covers cardiovascular emergencies, high-performance CPR, and trauma. The four-hour course earns a WSIB approved card valid for one year, with morning and evening sessions.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is included with all Coast2Coast First Aid and CPR courses. An AED is used on someone in cardiac arrest and, used correctly, can mean the difference between life and death. AEDs are found in public locations across the GTA such as government buildings, offices, and transit.

Certification cards are issued upon successful completion, usually within 48 hours, and a temporary card valid for WSIB purposes is issued on the training day. It is valid for three years for Intermediate/Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C, and one year for BLS.

First Aid and CPR/AED certificates are valid for three years, so recertification must be completed before expiry. It requires one full day of onsite training, issued within 48 hours. The prerequisite for recertification is a valid current certificate. CPR/AED Level C can be recertified repeatedly, while Intermediate/Standard First Aid can be recertified only once before a full course is required again.

Yes. The Babysitting course is for ages 11 to 15 and the Stay Safe program is for ages 9 to 13. Both cover basic first aid and CPR techniques, run 8 to 12 hours, and award a Canadian Red Cross card with no expiry.

Yes. Private training is available for groups of 8 or more, with savings up to $40 per student and centralized billing. You choose the date, time, and location, and a Canadian Red Cross instructor brings all equipment. There are no group prerequisites. Groups earn a WSIB approved credential valid for three years, or one year for BLS-HCP.
