What is Basic Life Support Training?
The specially designed Basic Life Support training course is essential for all healthcare professionals. It differs from CPR Level C training, a course intended to make CPR training accessible to everyone.
The Basic Life Support Course Hamilton teaches updated rescue techniques for adults, children, and infants. Besides learning all the BLS techniques, you are taught how to become a valuable member of a team and the importance of team dynamics.
Once you have taken part in Basic Life Support Training, you will be able to recognize the most common life-threatening emergencies quickly and know how to react. Your training teaches you how to give chest compressions, deliver ventilation, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Types of Basic Life Support Courses
The Canadian Red Cross Basic Life Support course is an in-class training program. Practicing all the techniques taught is vital to the training, and the course is not taught online or in blended courses. Besides the Canadian Red Cross training partner, this BLS course in Hamilton is WSIB approved.
If you wish to complete your Basic Life Support training in an online blended format, you may do so through our Heart & Stroke BLS program.
You must complete the correct Basic Life Support course required by your job or school. This BLS course is also a requirement for everyone in first responder roles. Once completed, you will have the confidence required to save a life!
Who Should Take This Course?
BLS is essential for several jobs in the medical field and includes pre-hospital care providers, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and hospital staff. Complete the course and receive a certificate from the Canadian Red Cross valid for one year. Always make sure you are taking the correct course required by your employer.
