Our United States Credentials

Coast2Coast First Aid & Safety began in Canada in 2014 and now trains across North America. In the United States our programs are delivered under these accreditations.

American Red Cross

An American Red Cross Authorized Training Provider, issuing nationally recognized First Aid, CPR/AED, and BLS certification valid two years.

AHA Aligned Training Center

An American Heart Association Aligned Training Center, so teams that specifically require AHA BLS can be certified to that standard.

OSHA compliant

Our training supports employer obligations under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151. Note that OSHA does not approve or certify training providers, so no course can accurately be called OSHA approved.

United States First Aid Requirements

Federal OSHA rules set the baseline for workplace first aid. Individual states, licensing boards, and employers frequently require more. If you are unsure what applies to you, tell us your role and we will confirm before you register.

RequirementWhat it says
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151(b)Where no infirmary, clinic, or hospital is in near proximity for treating injured employees, a person or persons must be adequately trained to render first aid. This is the general industry baseline for most workplaces.
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.50Construction sites must ensure first aid provision is available, with trained personnel where medical facilities are not reasonably accessible.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.266Logging operations specifically require first aid and CPR training for employees. One of the few OSHA standards that names CPR explicitly.
First aid kit standardANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2021 is the referenced consensus standard for workplace first aid kit contents.
State and licensing rulesMany states, professional boards, and school districts require certification beyond the federal baseline, and healthcare employers generally require BLS.Requirements differ by state and profession, so confirm with your employer or board.

First Aid & CPR Certification FAQ

It depends on the course and format. Adult CPR/AED is about 2 hours 25 minutes online plus 1 hour 25 minutes in class, or 2 hours 15 minutes fully in class. Pediatric CPR/AED is about 1 hour 35 minutes online plus 1 hour 15 minutes in class. The combined Adult and Pediatric course is about 2 hours 25 minutes online plus 2 hours 10 minutes in class, or 3 hours 45 minutes fully in class.

American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED, and BLS certification is valid two years. This differs from our Canadian programs, where First Aid certificates run three years, so check which country issued your current card before booking a renewal.

Choose the course that matches your needs, complete the online portion if you selected blended learning, then attend the in-person skills session. You need full attendance and a score of at least 75% on the multiple-choice test. Your certificate follows on successful completion.

CPR certification focuses on chest compressions, rescue breathing, and AED use, and suits the general public and most workplaces. BLS covers a broader clinical scope including adult, child, and infant resuscitation, airway management, and team-based response, and is generally required for healthcare providers.

Instructor-led BLS courses typically run 4 to 5 hours. The blended option is roughly 1 to 2 hours of online learning followed by a 2 to 3 hour in-person skills session, so most of the theory is done at your own pace.

No. OSHA does not approve, certify, or endorse training providers, so no provider can accurately claim to be OSHA approved. Our training is designed to support employer compliance with OSHA first aid requirements under 29 CFR 1910.151, and we are an American Red Cross Authorized Training Provider.

No. Certification always requires an in-person skills session so an instructor can evaluate hands-on CPR and AED technique. Blended learning lets you complete the theory online first, which shortens your time in the classroom.

We have two California facilities, in Los Angeles and Long Beach. Private group training for teams of 8 or more can be delivered at your own workplace, so you are not limited to those two sites.

Yes. Private and group training is available for 8 or more participants, delivered at your site with all equipment included and one invoice for the whole team. Choose Adult only or Adult and Pediatric, or BLS for clinical teams.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED covers the widest range of situations and is the most common workplace request. Healthcare employers generally require BLS instead. If you are unsure, send us your role and we will confirm before you book.
