Instructor Positions
Which Instructor Roles Are Open?
Two instructor roles are open, and each asks for a specific instructor certificate you must already hold. The two roles answer to different awarding bodies and the certificates do not transfer, so read that line first. Both run full time, part time or as a 12-month contract, with flexible hours, on-site parking and monthly bonuses. Public classes run at our Los Angeles and Long Beach facilities, and private groups book onsite, so the work reaches past those two cities.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and CPR/AED at all three levels. Students sit an ARC written exam with an 80% pass mark and a hands-on skills test.

Blended students finish the online portion of the training first, so your class hours go on skills. Fully in-person classes cover everything with you in the room.

Your students are licensed healthcare workers, so the room expects pace. The AHA written exam is 25 questions and the pass mark is 84%, or 21 of 25.

What Office Roles Are We Hiring For?
One office role is open: Customer Service Representative, full time and permanent, in Los Angeles, California. You would take inbound calls from students booking a course, moving one, or working out which certificate their employer asked for. Our training program teaches you the rest. What Kind of Instructor Are We Looking For?
Somebody who cares whether the student can still do it three months later. Ashkon Pour-heidary founded this company with Aryan Sekhavati in 2014 after his own first aid class went badly. He passed, held the card, then failed the practical evaluation he had taken the course for. He had watched the skills, not practiced them.
That is why we run both formats and treat the classroom the same way in each. Blended students finish the online portion of the training before they arrive, so your hours go on the floor with manikins and an automated external defibrillator trainer. Fully in-person classes cover the theory with you in the room, then do the same skills work. Either way your job is repetition, and students get a free 90-day skills practice retake.

What certification do I need to teach First Aid and CPR at Coast2Coast?
You need a current American Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructor certificate. A student-level certificate does not qualify you to teach, and an instructor certificate from another awarding body does not transfer. See the First Aid courses you would be teaching.
What certification do I need to teach BLS?
You need a current American Heart Association BLS Instructor certificate. Coast2Coast is an AHA Aligned Training Site, so our Basic Life Support classes run to the AHA syllabus and are taught by AHA instructors. See our Basic Life Support courses.
How much do instructors get paid?
Both instructor roles pay $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. Instructors also get monthly bonuses and awards, a signing bonus when the four conditions are met, and our own discounts on upgrades and recertification.
Is instructor work full time or part time?
Both roles are offered as full time, part time or a 12-month contract, and you pick your own courses from the calendar. With more than 100 courses running every week across our locations, most instructors build a schedule around what they already have.
Where would I be teaching?
Public classes run at our two California facilities, and private group courses go wherever the client is. The rooms we own are 2316 ½ S Union Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90007 and 2115 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90815. Onsite work is not limited to those two cities, so tell us on the form how far you are willing to travel.
Do I teach blended or fully in-person classes?
You teach both, because we offer both. Blended students complete the online portion of the training before they arrive, so the class time goes on skills. Fully in-person classes cover the theory and the skills with you in the room, which suits students who would rather learn everything directly from an instructor.
How do I apply for a job at Coast2Coast?

There is no separate form per instructor role, so apply once and name the position. Only applicants selected for an interview are contacted.
How does the instructor signing bonus work?
New instructors earn the signing bonus once all four conditions are met, and missing any one means it is not paid. You work the agreed days per month for at least three months, you start teaching in the month you sign, you complete orientation, and you have not worked with Coast2Coast in the past year.
What pass mark do my students have to hit?
It depends which course you teach, so check before you tell a class. The ARC written exam for First Aid and CPR/AED is 80%. The AHA BLS exam is 84%, which is 21 of 25 questions. Both courses also require a hands-on skills test with an automated external defibrillator trainer.
What does the Customer Service Representative role involve?
You take inbound calls in our Los Angeles office and help students book, change or understand a course. The role is full time and permanent, and we ask for at least one year of customer service experience. Call center and retention experience count in your favor.
