Basic Life Support Course in Aurora
BLS Certification and Recertification
The Basic Life Support Course in Aurora is Canadian Red Cross approved. Once you have completed the course, you acquire the WSIB approved certificate that qualifies you for healthcare positions.
BLS Recertification training is not currently available with us through our Canadian Red Cross courses. However, anyone who has already completed the Basic Life Support course can renew their certificate by registering for our BLS training course at a discounted rate.
When registering for training as an existing certificate holder, select the course level “Renew Your Basic Life Support (HCP)” from the dropdown menu.
Our Heart & Stroke BLS training does offer a recertification course for those who have previously completed their Basic Life Support with that provider, though.
If you are renewing your certificate, remember to bring the current BLS certificate to class as proof when you attend class. Canadian Red Cross BLS certification and recertification are valid for one year.
For anyone who fails the Basic Life Support course, either the part with the hands-on skills or the multiple-choice questions in the test, you will get a second chance to pass. Your instructor takes some time to go over the areas you haven’t understood before testing you again.
After failing a second time, the participant must retake the full course and pass it. It is easy to reschedule a second course by calling our office. There are several ways to ensure you have the knowledge to pass the course – take notes, pay attention, read through the online course eBook, and ask questions.
Some people who struggle with the BLS course choose to take the Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training course in Aurora, giving them an in-depth understanding of the basics of CPR and first aid.
Booking options are loading. If nothing appears after a moment, call 1-866-291-9121 for help registering.
