Are you interested in sharing your expertise with new or existing medical responders? Our Canadian Red Cross Professional Responders Instructor course in Ottawa aims to educate candidates on the specialized skills needed to teach First Responder (FR), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and advanced first aid courses. As a Professional Responder instructor, it is critical to provide engaging learning experiences that incorporate active participation, instruction in a variety of settings, and organizing unique sessions.

Candidates who fulfill the prerequisites for the course may begin the Fundamentals of Instruction component. Upon completion of the first stage, candidates move to a 2-day Discipline-Specific component which prepares them to specifically teach Professional Responder courses. Following this, the teaching experience component allows individuals to instruct in a dynamic learning environment, after which their certificates will be processed.

Certifications are only valid for a three-year time period. Enhance your career opportunities with our Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor Transfer Course in Ottawa! This training grants students the abilities and knowledge required to become instructors of various Red Cross Safety courses such as CPR, Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid, Child Care First Aid, and Marine Basic First Aid.

With prior experience, candidates may qualify for the Instructor Development Transfer Program under two conditions:

  1. If they are an instructor with another approved First Aid agency

  2. If the individual is a Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor/Instructor Trainer or an educator (elementary or secondary level)

Depending on the conditions the candidate fits in, their training will follow one of these paths:

  1. For those who qualify under the first condition, candidates will apply what they’ve learned from their prior First Aid Instructor training to the Red Cross’s First Aid program. Prior to becoming an instructor with Red Cross, potential candidates will need to complete a skills evaluation and then complete a Fundamentals of Instruction component. When these steps are completed, they may skip the Discipline-Specific component since they already are aware of the skills and knowledge required for First Aid and CPR. The next step to acquiring their credential will be a short, in-class teaching experience.
  2. The candidates who fulfill the second condition must successfully complete a skills evaluation to begin this course pathway. Once they complete the skills evaluation and meet the necessary prerequisites, they can skip the Fundamentals of instruction section because they have prior teaching experience. They will start with the Discipline-Specific classroom component which is 14.5 hours. The participants will complete a teaching experience component after they finish the Discipline-Specific portion, during which they’ll practice peer teaching sessions.

The successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for three years. Get yourself registered now!

I just completed the standard first aid training with Hosam and it was a very good experience. He kept my colleagues and I fully engaged for two days and it did not feel like he was just reading off a screen/book. You could tell he knew his stuff thanks to his healthcare background and he graciously answered all our questions even when they were a little out of the scope of the course. I usually only retain mainly the CPR/AED portion of the course but this is the first time that I got a perfect score in the exam and I am also more confident in handling multiple emergency situations. Thanks Hosam and coast to coast!

The First Aid Training I recently attended is worth attending. Hosam is a great trainer as he employed different methodologies in imparting the course contents. He showed his knowledge and ability to engage his participants to ensure learning effectiveness and retention. The size of the class is perfect because it allowed us to experience kinesthetic learning at its best. The location is great; classroom has ample lighting and there is access to restaurants or groceries for lunch break. Thanks Hosam!!!
