Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy

Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy provides the skills needed to recognize when to use supplemental oxygen and create an airway for a patient based on their condition. This course is a two hour intensive training program designed for healthcare professionals such as nurses, fire fighters, rescue teams, etc. Topics that are covered vary from Opening the Mouth, Tongue-Jaw Lift, Airway Adjuncts, Supplemental Oxygen, Administering Oxygen and more.

Airway Management teaches students how to create and maintain an airway in a patient while using necessary equipment. Learn about oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal and supraglottic airways.

Oxygen Therapy, on the other hand, teaches students skills to understand when supplemental oxygen should be administered while safely handling and assembling equipment.

Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy training will provide students with a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificate which is valid for three years. In addition to Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy, students are recommended to enroll in a Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training course.

Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP)

If you are registering for an Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy course, we highly recommend you register for Basic Life Support (HCP) as well. This is a four hour training course specially designed for healthcare professionals. The course provides all necessary skills to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies in a high-performance team atmosphere. Topics include: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automatic external defibrillator (AED), trauma, opioid overdose, anaphylaxis and more.

Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy Training

This two hour, intensive training course is offered at select locations in Ontario from 1:30PM to 3:30PM. Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy training is typically taken in addition to a Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) course, a training designed for healthcare professionals.

Coast2Coast First Aid & Aquatics also provides First Aid training including Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid. It is typical for healthcare providers to complete First Aid training in addition to their Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy training course. Courses are available in two learning formats: Traditional All In-Class or Online Blended.

Private Training Courses

Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy trainings is also available for private/group training courses. In our private training, groups of eight participants or more may complete a training at their own facility. We will send one of our experienced Canadian Red Cross instructors to your location of choice to teach you the skills required to complete your training.

I recently took a Basic Life Support (BLS) course led by Azra, and it was a great experience. The course was straightforward, easy to follow, and very well organized. Azra did an excellent job as an instructor—she explained everything clearly, answered questions patiently, and made sure everyone felt confident in their skills. Her calm and encouraging teaching style made learning CPR and emergency response techniques much less intimidating. Overall, I’d highly recommend this course, especially with Azra as the instructor.
